what is this?

Yeah, I’m definitely doing this. started by adamposey
The plan was simple enough, the overhead seemed minimal, but I was having a real difficult time finding a developer to help me build it. What I realized while ranting to Reiki was that it wasn’t the service provided by the code that was important, but the content I wanted to bring out with that.
Curing web 2.0 started by adamposey
We’ll never settle into these beta services because what we’re REALLY doing is just playing around while we wait for another place to ‘rest our feet’ metaphorically speaking. … Our identities are distributed over profiles in dozens, or even hundreds, of different accounts and we just don’t have a place to kick our feet up and call ‘home’.
Every so often. started by adamposey
Amazon said it was developed to get out of your way and let you read, they couldn’t have made that statement more true. … These things are not concerns on the device… it’s designed to let you read and make the most of reading, and it does a fabulous job of that.

If an item is at the top of the charts, but it’s being shown to fall, is that falling going to be accelerated by the knowledge of the trend? … If I were to see an item off in the charts, clearly less popular than others, but growing am I more like to feel special about buying or interacting with it?
My Life Suite started by adamposey
With more and more attention being payed to social networking applications, I’m beginning to think we’re all starting to miss the point and start looking for features that aren’t necessary, but certainly are cool.

In this post I’m simply going to describe what I’ll refer to as a ‘life suite’ from here on. The […]

The only thing you can do is make it easy for me to do all those things myself. … I can hide everything from me, so what are you going to do to help me paint a nice picture of you for myself?
A little nostalgia, a lot of bitching. started by adamposey
Have we moved more towards the idea of connection, and farther from the tools that can actually enable that kind of connection in a practical way? … This method of developing tools is killing communities before they can be born, instead of connecting the people who would normally form these communities it’s fragmenting them.
    This business. started by adamposey
When a contact of mine asked me one day when I was going to get into “This business” (meaning the Internet industry currently called “Web 2.0″) I was a bit thrown by the question. … The combo of time, my current dead-end job, my cash flow issues (I’ve got a lot of my money out in ‘personal loans’ to my

I am not a professional writer, I am just entering college, I earn just slightly above minimum wage, and I think every one of the big names in the blogosphere are acting like the music industry right now. … If you want to have a constructive conversation about this, first go have a nice large bowl full of your own dog-food and put your money where your mouth is.
Early Adopter Syndrome and the attention trap. started by adamposey
Those networks, however, locked us in so that we’d keep our ultra-valuable conversations and posts happening on their network meaning that the more of us they have, the more valuable the network is (Anyone want to ponder why Microsoft buys Facebook’s massive valuation? … But we’ll take the tools, and concepts, they’ve
Let the conversation come to you. started by adamposey
I understand you want to communicate with your readers, but this whole ‘conversation has left the building’ problem is hardly new. Do you think people posting research papers and other articles online were able to find, and engage in, every single conversation that took place in forums, usenet, IRC, etc?

I personally enjoy it for bringing me relevant information from the individuals I care to listen to and letting me ‘like’ and ‘comment’ on that without having to open FriendFeed in a browser. All told the app is decidedly rave-worthy in my opinion and I definitely think you should go try it out.
